A homeowner pursued a lorry across three counties after it damaged part of his 500-year-old Suffolk home.
Wynn Evans, 63, jumped into his car after hearing the lorry hit a corner of his Tudor house in Cavendish.
The wood carver pursued it for 20 miles (32 km) until police intercepted the lorry in Linton, Cambridgeshire.
Police said a 68-year-old man had been questioned on suspicion of careless driving and lawyers were deciding whether to prosecute.
Mr Evans said he called police on his mobile phone to tell them of his progress.
The police car intercepted the lorry about 30 minutes after the chase began.
'I heard the bang'
Mr Evans said a lorry had hit his house in similar fashion just over a year ago and caused more than £10,000 damage.
He said: "I was making a cup of tea when I heard the bang and saw the lorry drive off.
"I was livid. I didn't want to beat anybody up, I just wanted to make sure somebody paid for the damage because I knew what it would cost.
"I knew that if I simply called the police all they would have to go on was a vague description of the lorry.
"If the police hadn't arrived to intervene, I was thinking of some way I could have made a fuss to make sure that the lorry stopped."
